Many times at southern gospel concerts I have heard the singing group tell the congregation how they presented the salvation message at various concerts, and among those coming forward for salvation were lifelong members of the church!
Now I know that anyone visiting Praise Scribe is likely to be a lover of Christian music, and quite possibly active in the music ministry in the local church. However, I felt moved by the Lord to include a web page displaying some of the key salvation scriptures for this purpose:
These things have I written unto you that believe in the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe in the name of the Son of God. I John 5:13
GOD LOVES YOU UNCONDITIONALLY
God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
WE HAVE ALL SINNED
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. Romans 3:10
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
GOD HAS A REMEDY FOR SIN
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name. John 1:12
YOU CAN BE SAVED RIGHT NOW
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. Revelation 3:20
If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-13
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Just as the preceding verse says, you must make a confession of your belief in Christ Jesus to be saved. I know God hears us even when we "think" our prayer, and deaf people could certainly "sign" a prayer to the Lord or even write it on paper. However, saying your prayer aloud is a powerful tool for reinforcing your confession in your spirit.
If you've never before told the Lord that you believe in Jesus as your Saviour, this would be the perfect time to do it. Here is a sample prayer given as an example to help you become a new creation:
Heavenly Father, I do believe that
the Lord Jesus Christ died for my sins on the cross and was raised from
the dead for my justification. I want Jesus to live and reside in
my heart from this very moment. Teach me what I should know, Lord,
and give me assurance as a believer to be an overcomer. Thank you for
your salvation and the promise of eternal life. I pray this in Jesus'
